Tour Vermont by Bicycle (or perhaps by E-Bike?)!

Rolling Vermont farmland and orchard country, Vermont covered bridges sheltered in lush valleys, and majestic mountain backdrops above pristine lakes make bicycle touring the ideal way to enjoy Vermont’s magnificent, unspoiled scenery and delightful small country inns.  Your independent country road biking tour includes daily luggage transfer while you cycle, detailed maps and cue sheets, a Vamoos tour guide app, a RideWithGPS app for your phone, and an in-person orientation talk at the first inn.  Each day’s ride explores our well-vetted routes enjoyed by our bicyclists for safety and scenery for more than 40 years.  High quality rental bikes are available, including electric-assist “eBikes”, provided by the top-notch bike shop we have partnered with for decades.

Our guests are thrilled that we have been able to obtain a license to furnish our cyclists with a RideWithGPS app for your door to door rides, complete with turn-by-turn directions displayed on your phone and spoken aloud if desired.

Our popular self-guided trips give you maximum independence and flexibility.  There’s no one to hold you back or push you too hard in order to keep “the group” together … you set your own pace, free to stop to take in a glorious Vermont view; browse at an intriguing gallery or shop; or pedal onward to challenge yourself.  You tailor your trip as you go. Each day brings miles of country vistas interspersed with quaint Vermont villages.  Each evening is filled with the charm and warm hospitality of a fine country inn, along with the unsurpassed dining that is your reward for a day in the saddle.  We can’t tell you how many of our guests have said they felt like they gained weight instead of losing it on a week of biking Vermont inn to inn!

In 2024, the innkeepers expect to be facing the same labor shortage (housekeepers, waitstaff, kitchen help, etc.) that challenged Vermont hospitality enterprises since the onset of the pandemic.  As we partner with small, independent, owner-operated properties, we’re concentrating our cyclists at the inns on one or two nights each week.  As the travel and tourism world attempts to get back “on balance” in 2024 after three topsy-turvy pandemic years in a row, we are only able to offer our popular Vermont biking program as a three-, four-, or five-night itinerary checking in Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday afternoon and departing Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday mornings.  Please see details on our self-guided Vermont biking page.

Cycling Vermont with us is at the best pace:  your own.
