Dirt Road Biking in Vermont

The Moosalamoo National Recreation Area

The Green Mountain National Forest’s Moosalamoo National Recreation Area offers a wide range of unpaved terrain — old logging roads, gravel carriage roads, abandoned ancient town byways, and mixed-use trails. In general, the mountain biking available would be described as beginner to intermediate-level, not advanced, technical riding, though recent trail work in the National Forest has opened up some segments of true single-track for a more adventurous off-road mountain biking experience.  You can choose to spend your Vermont vacation on the dirt, or combine mountain biking with road riding.
