Dine & Relax

Our Vermont Country Inns

The special ambiance of Vermont country inns is very much a part of these trips.  The inns and B&Bs we visit are known for their charm, hospitality, and cuisine.  The newest of them is “only” a hundred years old.  Each is unique and brimming with history.  Many are furnished with antiques but have been tastefully updated.  The dress code is casual.

Expect the multi-course dinner to be a rare treat!  Whether the fare is simple or gourmet, it is certain to be carefully prepared by some of Vermont’s finest chefs and innkeepers, often with local, organic vegetables and freshly baked breads and desserts.  Guests enjoy sharing the day’s adventures with others with similar interest.

Airports:  You CAN get here from there!

BACK FOR A SECOND SEASON IN 2024:  We are thrilled to offer a ride service for our cyclists flying in!  Our partner business is an electric car service based right here in your tour start/stop village, Brandon, Vermont.  BY ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY, the owner/driver will meet you at the airport at Burlington VT, Albany NY, or Manchester NH in his Tesla Model 3 and bring you and your luggage (no bikes!) to Brandon to start your tour.  This is suitable for one couple plus customary luggage.  A return trip by advance reservation only is also offered.  If you would like to be connected with our friend Tim and his electric car ride service, please email or text us well in advance.

Estimated travel times to Brandon (our headquarters village) from regional airports:
BTV     (Burlington, Vermont) is about 75 minutes north of Brandon
ALB     (Albany, New York) is about 2 hours west
MHT    (Manchester, New Hampshire) is about 2 1/2 hours southeast
BOS    (Boston, Massachusetts) is about 3 1/2 hours southeast
BDL     (Hartford, Connecticut) is about 3 1/4 hours south

The airport you choose may depend on the airline you fly and the most convenient and/or cost-efficient flights from your location.

For 2024, our 49th season, we have carefully selected the gracious Vermont inns pinned on the map below to be our inns along the trail:
