2026 Vermont Walking & Hiking Tours
If you like to hike or walk, but don’t want to be confined to a daily group schedule, a self-guided Vermont hiking vacation is an ideal independent getaway. Benefit from our 50 years of experience in searching out rewarding trails and footpaths and fine Vermont country inns.
***No door-to-door hiking is available this season. All the recommendations will be day hikes near your inns, sometimes onsite at your inns, but not connecting by foot. Only cycling tours are door-to-door this season.***
Self-guided Vermont hiking and walking packages are all-inclusive and feature
- relaxed Old World dinner service at your inn each evening
- comfortable country inn accommodations (private baths; non-smoking inns)
- full country breakfast at your inn each morning
- brown-bag hiker’s trail lunch packed for you by your breakfast innkeeper
- our hiking trail notes in advance through a fun and informative “Vamoos” app
- detailed paper local trail maps distributed by the innkeepers
- an innkeeper’s “trail talk” (orientation to local conditions) each morning
- housekeeping and waitstaff gratuities
- Vermont rooms and meals tax (9% or 10% depending on the town).
Your only out-of-pocket expense on tour is alcohol if desired.
A limited number of rooms with two beds are available if desired (please request at time of booking).
On a hiking/walking tour, you’ll need use of a car to reach the touring area, to get to the trailhead each morning, and to drive on to your next inn each afternoon, stowing your luggage in your car after breakfast and retrieving it as you check in at your next inn before dinner. Hiking/walking is not door-to-door.
